To create Maximalist Studios, Eddie and Jaithan transformed a riverfront factory into a content studio and event space for upscale gatherings.

Our story celebrates the joy of living every day colorfully and creatively.

Maximalist Studios was founded in 2018 by Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kochar. Kindred spirits with a passion for living beautifully, Eddie and Jaithan met in New York, where they began a blog, chronicling their adventures in design and entertaining.

Together, they brought a shared love of color, creativity and craftsmanship to the stories they told. Their book, Modern Mix, is an essential guide to finding vintage treasures that add personality anywhere they go.

We love coming to Maximalist! The light is amazing all the time and the prop house is a dream. There’s nothing like it!

Planning a shoot or event? We’ll help you bring your vision to life.

Like their book, Maximalist Studios springs from the complementary strengths of partners Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kochar. Eddie combines his knowledge of food, flowers, design and entertaining with his experience as a producer, editor and stylist.

Jaithan is a skilled communicator and strategist, managing client relations and day-to-day business. Together, they lead a team of makers, stylists and storytellers with a passion for helping people create and celebrate with confidence.

Chutney & Shiitake

Our little potatoes

Maximalist mascots, Chutney and Shiitake, are a pair of pint-sized Pekingese whose father famously won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Show.

Chutney has appeared on the cover of an auction catalog for Christie’s and campaigns for Perigold, Lilly Pulitzer and The Laundress. Shiitake has been featured in House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens and Philadelphia magazines. He has also curled up in our kitchen with Ms. Patti LaBelle, occasionally wagging his tail for a taste of one of her pre-made meals at Walmart.

When the little potatoes aren’t posing for pictures or getting belly rubs on set, they can be heard snoring in their Chinoiserie bamboo beds upholstered in high-performance velvet.
